History
Reconciliation was founded in 1986 by Dorothy Moore as an outreach to inner city street kids. In 1995 the ministry established a home for women with children and a home for men in 1996. Leonard Brannon, founder of CareCenter Ministries, has been a pioneer in urban ministry since 1986 and joined the leadership team of Reconciliation in 2004.
Reconciliation is known for its leadership in urban ministry and, with a variety of programs for families, children, and the disadvantaged, is one of the largest providers of rehabilitative faith-based residential services in the city of Dallas. Reconciliation operates six residential properties providing comprehensive services for up to one hundred needy men, women, and children. Reconciliation’s focus on children’s services include “before and after-school care,” summer camp, and most recently, the establishment of Reconciliation Academy, a tuition-free charter school.
Reconciliation is strategically positioned to expand its outreach beyond our community to help more of the poor, addicted, homeless, ex-offenders, and children break the cycle of poverty and dependence in urban communities around the world.
Fulfilling our mission is made possible only through the generosity of individuals like you. If you would like to help Reconciliation continue its mission and to expand services across the globe, please contact our offices at 214.545.6500.
