Accountability

Reconciliation Outreach Ministries is a member in good standing of the Evangelical Counsel for Financial Accountability (ECFA). ECFA is an accreditation agency that helps Christian ministries to earn the public trust through adherence to their seven Standards of Responsible Stewardship. ECFA which was founded in 1979, is comprised of over 1,200 evangelical Christian organizations. These organizations qualify for tax-exempt, nonprofit status, and receive tax-deductible contributions to support their work.

Reconciliation Outreach has an independent, voluntary, Board of Directors who oversees the organization’s operations including fund raising methods, ministry accomplishments, policy compliance and financial stability. The Board of Directors meets at least four times a year. Our financial statements are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Our financial records are audited by an independent certified public accountant. Reconciliation Outreach will provide our current audited financial statements upon request. Donors can receive financial and other information about any program they have supported.

We strive to conduct our activities with the highest of standards of integrity, and honesty to avoid conflicts of interest.

We do not use “high pressure” or manipulative fund raising tactics. Our fund raising appeals will clearly state the purpose and programs to which donations will be applied and we ensure that all donations are expended for the purposes for which they were raised. On occasion we may receive more contributions than are needed for a particularly solicited project. When this happens we will use the excess funds to meet another pressing need in the ministry.
